Death of a poet: Palau i Fabre
Josep Palau i Fabre, poet and a main expert on Picasso, has died.
While this is relative, as a poet lives every time we read his poems. For me is a special one as I have had opportunity to put music to accompany his poems in several performances. And every time, it has been a impressive moment. The words and the music, a strong combination. Hard sensations. Great moments.

He wrote in plain language about complex feelings. He usually wrote about common feelings, perhaps the most difficult to understand.
Here one of his poems (originally in Catalan)
Darreries Postrimerías Last times
Primavera, Primavera Spring
presó prisión prison
gust de cendra, sabor a ceniza a taste of cinder
de dol, a duelo of mourning
allibera’m, libérame, frees me,
el cor. el corazón. the heart
Es marceixen Se marchitan Withering
les flors, las flores, are flowers,
que ja pensen que ya imaginan already imagining
la mort la muerte the death
desesperen desesperan despair
d’amor. de amor. of love.
Primavera Primavera Spring
presó prisión prison
allibera’m libérame frees me
el cor el corazón the heart
His most important poems book is “Poemes de l’alquimista”, originally wrote in CCatalan years ago translated to Spanish by himself . He also extensively wrote about Picasso (”Picasso, the Early Years, 1881-1907″).
We are preparing a performance, music (guitar & flute) and Palau poems, at the city of Mataró. Will be the best evidence he’s not dead.
